So, I think Jen and me broke our record for daily trips to Walmart... and Blockbuster.
Last Sunday we all went to Wonderworks (which is an indoor, science-type-of amusement park). Frankly, it made my head spin a little. I prefer the kind of amusement parks where I DON'T have to use my brain. Like Disney Land, or 6 Flags. That's okay though, the kids had fun.
Here's a picture that I stole from Coie's blog of her, Emmi and me. I love Coie's expression. It's so her.

I meant to include this picture in my last post, but forgot to. So I stole it from my sister's blog to put here. It's my very Asian nephew the day Jen, Coie, Ryann, me and him went to Chinese for Coie's birthday lunch. After we finished eating, he very carefully put the chopsticks BACK in the little paper holder they came in, brought them home, and proceeded to pick up everything in sight with them. He is the coolest 5 year old nephew I ever had. Also the most obnoxious. But that's ok. ;)

I'm glad I cleaned my house before we left for our trip. There's nothing worse than coming home to a big, fat mess. Thankfully, our plane ride was uneventful. Although, our trip OUT there a week ago was interesting. We almost missed our flight during our layover in Minneapolis. I can't believe how huge that dumb airport is. While we were booking it down to our gate from the OTHER end of the airport, we stopped to use the tram (I was plumb tired out). While we waited for it to get there, I noticed my reflection in the window, and with shock and awe at how round I've gotten in just the last few weeks, I said, "My word, Charley, I'm a house". My dear, loving and always tactful husband stepped back, looked me up and down and replied, "um, actually, you're more like a shed". If his quick and witty comment hadn't made me laugh as much as it did, I would have probably thumped him on the forehead.
ANYways, speaking of getting more round, I'm only 3 days away from reaching the halfway point in this pregnancy. I'm praising God for his grace and mercy during the past 4 months. I hardly had any morning sickness at all, and this little girl is growing wonderfully! She's quite the acrobat actually, judging from the last ultrasound. Figures, she's probably going to be like I was as a kid- bouncing off the walls and always having SOMEthing to say. Heavens was I an attention hog. But my fingers are still crossed that she'll be more like her dad was: quiet, cute, shy and reserved. Although, he obviously grew out of that, so there's just no telling.
If you haven't figured it out yet, we've officially decided on the name, Eden Grace Preston. I like its meaning, too. Eden means 'delight' or 'paradise', and Grace means 'God's favor'. My sister and a few friends in TN got me THE cutest little outfits for her. And I found a few darling items at Baby Gap and Oshkosh during a couple of our many shopping trips. This week, Daddy-to-be and I are going to focus on clearing out what will be Eden's nursery so that we'll be able to start decorating it. I'd like to do a butterfly/garden theme ... which is appropriate considering her name. I haven't told you that yet, have I, Charley? Um. Well now you know... but as always, veto power is still all yours.
And finally, I'm REALLY, SUPER stoked about some other things that might be happening this Summer (along with the birth of my little one), but I can't really divulge that info quite yet. All I will say is that this may be the very best Summer that I've had in.. well, forever. :)

Well having the best summer ever is excellent. I think I've said before that July babies are awesome. I have a pretty awesome one!
I think the garden theme sounds lovely and I'm sure whatever you decide will be beautiful. I'm glad you have a wonderful time in TN...I'm completely envious of James (I think) and his chop stick abilities.
I really envy (mostly love) reading about you and Jen's friendship. I love that you are sisters, but MORE than just sisters.
And I've been around a WHOLE lot of annoying 5 year olds. Your nephew isn't alone. :)
What a beautiful name!
I am so glad that y'all got to spend all that time together in TN. What a tremendous blessing!
And the chopsticks back in the wrapper? That is so stinkin' cute!!! My 9yo used goes to an enrichment program for homeschoolers every Friday. They learned about China or something one day and ate with chopsticks. He couldn't figure out how to use the two sticks together, so he just used one to stab at some snacks. He then carefully put them back in the wrapper and brought them home for ME to use. :-) Because you like chopsticks and know how to use them, mommy! I hope he's still this sweet when he turns double digits.
Welcome back home, Jess! And you are such a lucky ducky for not being a sickly prego girl. Praying that the rest of your pregnancy is equally uneventful!
Love,
Marshie
Butterfly/garden theme...how nice.
July babies are great! I am a July baby. If she comes a week earlier than your expected due date then she could have a chance to have the same birthdate as me! Mine is on 7/12. :)
Hey Jess!! Looks like you guys had a great trip. Don't you just love vacations?:) I am doing great and most days I don't even feel like I am pregnant. I have yet to show and am 3 months, so I guess my time will eventually come. The only thing getting bigger is my boobs, lol, so my friends calls this the porn star stage where your stomach is flat but up top is huge, lol:) And yes, I hear ya thta the time is going by so quickly. But I am cherishing every second I get with Brad, because just the two of us is going to end soon. How are you doing? I see that you are showing, so how is adjusting to that? I hope that you have a lovely day and maybe you guys should come see us for your next trip, hint hint:)
Glad you made it back safe and sound! Eden Grace is a beautiful name....
Can't wait to hear the big surprise!
arghhhhhhhhhh, I"M SPOSED TO BE CLEANING RIGHT NOW
Um, that comment TOTALLY does not count, Jen. I expect a nice, looong, thorough comment after 4pm your time today.
WHAAAAAAT???????? YOU HAD A LAYOVER IN MINNEAPOLIS!!!!!!! Please excuse me, I'm going to go pout, mope and quite possibly work myself into a tizzy over that information now.
Love,
Your crazy Cheetos consuming friend from ALBERT LEA (you know...that town just south of MINNEAPOLIS)
LOL AMY! I thought of you while I was there, if that counts!! Our layovers were less than an hour, and we spent the little bit of time that we had SPRINTING from one end of the airport to the other! Otherwise, we would have TOTALLY arranged to meet up with you! It was so fun seeing your sis in TN... I'm just sad you couldn't have been there too!! Miss you, my crazy email buddy!! :)
love jess
Welcome home!!! I bet the temperature shift was a little shocking! I'm glad you had such a good time with your family, and that you get to see them soon!! Isn't it nice having a godly, giving, funny husband? I enjoyed your stories and pics about how Charlie spoiled you and made you laugh!!
Hey hey!! Yes, it was a wonderful vacation and we our already trying to figure out where to go next year. I mean baby will be here, but we still want to get away since it's tradition now, hehe:) And yeah one of the perks about living in the lower 48 is that you can do all this travel stuff, so we our living it up.
Well, I am glad you got a GOOD laugh out of my comment, lol:) When a friend of mine told me about 'that' stage I was cracking up. Too funny and oh so true.
I actually have already done some maternity shopping cuz when Gap Maternity and Motherhood Maternity have a sale they have a sale and I just can't hold back buying something that is so cute and I know I will eventually use. So yes, it is amazing how many cute clothes are out there today. And oh man I hear ya about when you gain weight it definitely shows in the face. Not very fun, but all so worth it for baby. I just hate it too:(
Have a super duper fantastic day!!
Love~
Julie
