Being 8 months pregnant, there are a few things I miss terribly from my 'pre-pregnancy' state.
1. Bending over/kneeling down. A week or so ago I was in the bathroom getting ready for the day, and dropped my mascara on the floor. Rather than simply leaning over to scoop it up, I found myself just staring down at it. Finally, Charley walked in behind me, noticed the dilima I'd found myself in, and picked it up for me. "uuuuuh, here you go, hun". You'd think he'd just given me a 2 hour back rub.
2. Bathroom Runs. If you've ever been pregnant, you know how annoying it is to go 'potty', stand up, wash your hands and start to walk out of the bathroom... JUST to stop, shake your head in disbelief, and turn around to sit back down on the throne again. Unreal. And they tell you to drink MORE water while you're pregnant... If you ask me, I think they just find it funny. What a rotten trick.
3. Those cute 'little' kicks. Eden has discovered my ribs. They are her new favorite toy and I'm convinced that she thinks they're her personal monkey bars. I'm also convinced that she will probably win a gold medal as a famous Olympian some day. Not to mention the fact that she NEVER sleeps. So much for getting Daddy's 'mellow' and 'shy' genes. She's taking after Mama big time. THANKS JEN. (When I lived with my sister, she used to get so mad at me for how obnoxious and hyper I was, that she would curse me by saying, "I HOPE YOU HAVE A KID *JUST* LIKE YOU SOMEDAY...THEN YOU'LL SEE").
However, even with those 'not-so-great' aspects of being pregnant, over all, I must say that I've thoroughly enjoyed the past 8 months, and am already looking forward to doing it again. There are more 'pros' than 'cons' to being pregnant in my opinion. Like:
1. "When are you due??!". Your popularity goes WAAAY up. Everyone wants to rub your tummy, buy you presents, and find out all about how you're feeling and if there's anything they can do to help. Some people may find this annoying, but I like it. Plus, you can get out of virtually *anything* by saying, "um, I'm really pregnant and just don't have the energy. sooooooorry". *sad face*.
2. You're a victim for getting fat. You can eat almost anything you want, and lots of it, and people just smile and say, "awww...you're eating for two now! How sweet"... while you mow down that double cheeseburger and fries. I'm *pretty* sure that's what heaven will be like. And after you've gained 70 pounds and look like a walrus, your friends tell you, "oh you look soooo good! You're breastfeeding right?? Yeah, it'll come right off... don't you worry." Love THAT.
3. Belly Rolls. No, not those kind. The rolls where you literally see your baby roooooll across your tummy. It's like she's waving at me. "Hi Mom! I'll be out soon!". Feeling her wiggle and move, watching my tummy twitch and bounce... it all contributes to this being the absolute, most awesome experience of my life. Watching Charley get that sheepish, giddy look on his face when he puts his hand on my belly and she bats at it... simply nothing compares.
I've only scraped the surface, but I just can't tell you how awesome these past several months have been - yes, even amongst the frequent bathroom runs, uncomfortable nights, rib ticklings, and now sporatic minor contractions... it's been amazing. And to think that we only have about 6 more weeks before I can hold this little miracle in my arms for the first time. *happy sigh*

Wow! I can't believe it's been 8 months! Seems that only recently you announced.
Cheeseburgers and fries! Heaven must be like that! *licks lips*
Love the lists. Takes me back....
Hahaha! So true. And I almost hate to tell you this but people will still excuse the 'eating for two' thing when you are nursing :)
The last 10 weeks always seem to go by fast for me...just wait, you'll blink and then be holding her!
-Laura
Laura, I can't wait!! :)
Awww...you make me want to be pregnant again. :)
Hannah, i make ME wanna be pregnant again... and i'm not even done yet with THIS one!! :) God knew what he was doing when he made mamas!!!
I love it when people ask me when I'm due, only.....I'm not pregnant!
The other thing that's so fun is the built in "table" that you have instead of a flat tummy....who'm I kidding? I've NEVER had a flat tummy!
I love being pregnant so much, I want to do it again. I caught myself wishing for another baby this morning, and Lucie is only 4 months old!
Can't wait to meet Eden and hear all about her birth! It does go fast, Laura is right.
Memorize every moment, if you don't you'll wish you had.
Isn't it just amazing what pregnancy can do to a woman. I just love it!! Gosh, I cannot wait to meet Eden, so she needs to hurry up and get here, hehe:) I agree with you that it is just awesome to have people want to rub your belly and be so interested in your pregnancy. I can say without a doubt that I have never felt so good about my body like this before. I sometimes want to be like this forever as not only does my husband love my pregnant self, but so do I. Maybe we will just have our kids back to back, so that I can always be pregnant cuz I don't want my pre-pregnancy body back. I know I'm different, haha:)
Leanne, You are so funny! and yes, that built-in table comes in quite handy!! :)
Julie, while i love being pregnant, and hope to have several kiddos, I can't imagine being pregnant FOREVER. Good thing I'm not mormon. ;)(you are *so* in your 2nd trimester!!) lol love you!
i absolutely hated bending over! i would always make my kids pick things up for me.
Wow! Time really flies, I still remember when I first "meet" you, you were only at the beginning of your pregnancy and now you're so near of meeting her in person.
And I must say, I so agree with you on the "Joys" of pregnancy!
I thought of doing it again, but when looking at Grace now, I say, I'd better slow down a little. Hehehe...
I definitely do not want to be pregnant for the rest of my life, it is just that I have never felt so good about the way I look before. I can truly say that I love my pregnant body and girl next week I will be in my 3rd trimester=) Time is flying by!!
Congrats! Your almost there.
This made me laugh SO hard. You are funny when you're eight months pregnant.
I had lots of Chinese food for lunch. I don't feel so goooooooood
mmm Chinese? You shoulda taken me with you. Although, that mocha filled me up pretty good. I'm spazzing out big time at work. *teeth chatting*
... and I wonder why Eden won't quit doing cartwheels.
*chattering.
... 'teeth chatting' sounded like I had a pair of those trick dentures. gross.
I do have to admit that it was the most wonderful feeling when after several weeks I finally fet normal again after having each of my boys. I was always able to sort of sleep on my stomach while I was pregnant, but actually had more difficulty managing that while I was breastfeeding. It's funny how much being able to suck in my stomach and use my muscles (or lack there of) was so nice!
You so made me laugh Jess! I can just see you staring at your mascara, good for you for not crying! I think someone should by you one of those grabber things that you just pull the lever on and wah-la, a little claw picks up your stuff! I bet watching your yummy "roll" is so awesome :)I wish I could see both your prego belly and your daughter, but I would much rather go for meeting your daughter when I come up!
I love being pregnant too; I love babies; I told your sister once that just like some people hate running out of toilet paper, I hate running out of babies :)
Did I ever tell you those things about me? Thought I would now just so you can know me better ;)
You are in my thoughts and prayers so much! Love you and miss you!
Ditto Chickadee. I thought about you while I was at church today, and my one year old kept throwing her toys on the floor. Luckily, her 3 year old brother was willing to pick them up, and I thought "That's what Jess needs - a helpful 2-3 year old!" SO just think, maybe next time, Eden will be able to pick up your mascara! :D
Wow...can't believe you are going to be giving birth soon! That went by really quickly for me...ha,ha!
Me, I never really liked the belly rubs so much, but I can concur with the other things. I wish you the VERY best in the weeks to come.
I've been on a little blogging hiatus, but I'm back now. You can find me now over at www.thepiratemom.com . Would love to have you visit some time.
